太阳能帆板和太阳帆太阳能电池帆板是航天器上的一种能源装置,而太阳帆是一种航天器。卫星等航天器上的能源有三种,一是电池;二是核发电;三是太阳能。太阳能是航天器上广泛应用的能源。航天器上的仪器设备,多数是靠电来工作的。太阳能电池帆板(有时也简称为太阳能帆板)就是将太阳的光能转换成电能的装置。它的面积很大,像翅膀一样在航天器的两边展开,所以又叫作太阳翼。其上贴有半导体硅片或砷化镓片,就是靠它们将太阳光的光能转换成电能的。所以,太阳能电池帆板,一实际上就是太阳能电池阵。早期航天器上的太阳能电池阵是设置在航天器的外表面上,后来由于航天器用电量需求的增加,才发展为巨大的帆板的,而且这种帆板的面积不断增大。太阳帆是利用太阳光的光压进行宇宙航行的一种航天器。按照光子理论,每个光子的动量为普朗克常数h×光波频率V/光速C。如果每秒钟有N个光子垂直撞击在物体上,则物体获得的动量增量,即受到的压力为N×hν/C。如果光子被完全反射回去,则压力为2N×hν/C。单位面积上受到的太阳光光子的压力为太阳光的压强,记作P0。,太阳光的压强是很微小的。绝对黑体受到的太阳光的压强只有4.55×10-6牛顿/米2。但在外层太空的真空中,它能把普星的气体吹出一个长长的尾巴来。如果太阳光以θ角照射在面积为S的太阳帆的帆面上,并被反射回去,则太阳光的压力对太阳帆产生的推力为:F=2P0S(R0/R)2COS2θ式中R0为地球到太阳的距离,R为太阳帆到太阳的距离。按照上述公式,如果帆的面积为2平方米,则太阳光产生的推力只有1毫克力。由于这种推力很小,所以不能为航天器从地面起飞,但在没有空气阻力存在的太空,这种小小的推力仍然能为有足够帆面面积的太阳帆提供10-5~10-3g左右的加速度。如先用火箭把太阳帆送入低轨道,则凭借太阳光压的加速,它可以从低轨道升到高轨道,甚至加速到第二、第三宇宙速度,飞离地球,飞离太阳系。如果帆面直径为300米,可把0.5吨质量的航天器在200多天内送到火星;如果直径大到2000米,可使5吨质量的航天器飞出太阳系。
