裂解汽油烃类裂解制乙烯副产的轻质液体产物,沸程范围50~200℃,主要成分为C6~C9烃类,有时也包含C5烃以及C9以上重质烃类。其组成及产率与裂解原料、裂解方法和裂解条件有关。在用乙烷、丙烷及丁烷等气态烃为原料时,产率只有原料的2%~5%(质量);若用石脑油、轻柴油等液态烃为原料时,则为15%~20%(质量)(见表)。裂解汽油的组成中含有大量的二烯烃及芳烃等不饱和化合物,在空气中放置,颜色(黄色)逐渐加深,并有粘稠状的聚合物沉淀。与裂化汽油不同,裂解汽油不能直接作为发动机燃料,而只能用作燃料油,或制造石油树脂的原料。当采用加氢方法除去裂解汽油中易聚合的二烯烃、炔烃及含硫化合物等杂质后,可用作高辛烷值汽油组分,或进一步用作芳烃抽提原料。裂解汽油是目前世界上苯、甲苯、二甲苯等芳烃的重要来源。加氢过程可以采用镍、钴、钼等催化剂。可以在较高的温度及较低的压力下进行气相反应;也可以在较低的温度和较高的压力下采用钯等贵金属催化剂进行液相反应。
